Creative ceiling decorations

With a great rating on Tripadvisor, we chose The Queens Arms for dinner. This quirky pub is located on Frederick Street in the Edinburgh city centre. It has a homely, typical pub-feel to it with great decor. In one corner, they have bookshelves and the ceiling is decorated with empty bottles hanging of the ceiling. Slightly disconcerting that some of the bottles are missing and only the bottle tops are left... But I can confirm that nobody in our party got hit by a falling bottle!

CCC - Culinary Conference Catering

I usually lose weight when running a meeting. It's a mix of not having much time to eat as well as the food not being terribly good and lack of appetite due to stress. (Un)Fortunately the recent event we held in Edinburgh was an exception to all of these three: the event ran so smoothly, thanks to great staff at the venue and from the catering company (Saltire Hospitality), which meant I had time to eat AND the food was really good. Especially the cakes... Plus with everything - including the social events - being held at the same venue, there wasn't much running around to be done either... Well, this will hopefully motivate me to hit the gym again more often. OR the hot weather will mean that I will eat loads of salads! (I know, it's unlikely...)

Hotel etiquette

Why is it so difficult for people to shut up or at least speak quietly in a hotel corridor? Early in the morning and late at night, that is. Surely, everyone has been irritated by other hotel guests doing just that - why not show a little bit of consideration?

Sales are on and that means DVDs are even cheaper than they usually are. So, I keep adding to my DVD collection. Maybe  - one day - I will actually watch them, too....
