Friday lunch at the pub
...used to be a regular thing in our office. I am not entirely sure what happened but after a number of restructurings and staff coming and going, we hardly ever go out together (Pay Day Pie Day is usually an in-the-office affair). But today was an exception as a few of us had a £5 voucher for our 'local' - the Island Queen. So, for just over £5, I got a drink and this:
More donut delights
And thanks to my blog, I know when exactly I treated myself to Krispy Kreme donuts the last time - and that was in early August. So no need to feel bad about my purchase the other day:

Missing Mancini
It's dark and cold. Winter is upon us. When leaving work, it's really tempting to just go home. 18:00 somehow feels like 22:00. It's quite weird, cause I don't remember feeling like this in the past.
After a very annoying day in the office, I decided to join some friends to watch the Champions League Manchester City vs Moscow game in a pub instead. For some reason, I keep forgetting that Mancini is no longer Man City's manager. Such a pity, too, I quite liked him. Admittedly, I primarily liked his looks. Let's face it, I really know nothing about football and/or his qualities as a manager.
Man City won 5:2 by the way.

Like thunder
I'm not a Jessie J fan per se. But I'm not one to turn down an invite! The Brighton Centre offered two tickets for a number of gigs at their venue and Jessie J was really the only one I could make (and Russell Brand - but I find him rather obnoxious and those are actually tickets I probably WOULD turn down...).
The evening started with a tour round the event space at the Old Ship Hotel - where we also staying for the night. We recently held an event there, which I had organized but hadn't attended myself. It was lovely to finally meet the Event Manager Anya face to face, after we had exchanged so many emails! And she was just as lovely in person as she had been in helping organizing the event.
We then moved on for a tour of the Brighton Centre, followed by a buffet dinner before we then moved on to one of the VIP boxes from where (comfortably seated and provided with drinks) we were watching Jessie J's gig as well as a couple of women getting into a fist fight...
And I really enjoyed it (not the women fighting!)! Great light show, loved the confetti rain, fireworks, and Jessie's show. While she was having costume changes, they showed videos, which - to be honest - were a little cheesy and preachy (about love and life and the like) - but positive messages nevertheless which might well reach her teenage audience.

Birdies
I literally spent HOURS searching for new bedding. I've been meaning to buy new covers for ages. And there is so much choice out there! The only thing I knew was that I wanted something with a pattern (rather than just one colour) and in 100% cotton. Ideally Egyptian cotton. But as it turns out, there isn't much choice when it comes to Egyptian cotton bedding! So I settled for cotton. Again, most bedding is a mix of cotton and polyester. Really not that easy to find something pretty.
I eventually settled on this from Jigsaw:
I wouldn't usually go for grey, but I liked the birdies and thought it'd look a bit more grown-up and classic than the bright pink I am naturally drawn to. And I've never spend so much money on bedding either. But hey, October was bonus month!

I tend to agree with a and c. I wonder why you can only select one answer though...
