multi-tasking

If you can't read your smartphone while climbing up the stairs, I recommend the following:
1) stop reading your smartphone and concentrate on moving up the stairs at a normal pace
or
2) step aside and let other commuters use the stairs, while you read your smartphone

It really isn't complicated.
