There's too much beauty to quit

Film 4 is having Ryan Gosling days at the moment! Yesterday started off with 'The Notebook', followed by 'Stay'. I hadn't seen either before and didn't know the stories either.

The Notebook is based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks - and I guess that says it all: a romantic drama, very predictable and I cried my eyes out at the end. And Ryan Gosling is perfect.

Stay on the other hand is a psychological thriller. Ewan McGregor is a psychiatrist, treating Ryan Gosling when taking over patients of one of his colleagues. Ryan is announcing that he will commit suicide in just three days. With the help of his girlfriend Naomi Watts, who survived a suicide attempt, Ewan tries to save Ryan.

It's a very confusing story, but I really got into it. Not least of course because Ryan Gosling is perfect again. ;-)

'There's too much beauty to quit' is  what Naomi suggests Ewan says to Ryan to keep him from killing himself.
