Hirzighof - if you ever stay in the Black Forest...

You should check their availability! The place is great and prices are incredibly low. We rented a flat (massive bedroom with two double beds, two bathrooms, huge dining/living room with telly, kitchen) for just €35 per night (and NOT per person but for the whole flat!). You can also book breakfast for €7.50pp - which was lovely: fresh bread rolls, ham, cheese, jam, cereals and of course juice, coffee and tea. I don't usually have breakfast - so, the fact, that I really enjoyed this, says a lot!

We were looked after very well by Ulrike and her mother-in-law. It's a peaceful place with fantastic views. It's actually a farm, and they have cows, deer and a couple of goats.

It's just outside Oppenau, close to Freudenstadt and Offenburg and about 40km from Strasbourg. We only spent three nights there, but it felt like a proper holiday.

Just follow the sign
We had the apartment at the top

Just one half of the bedroom
Part of the huge dining/living room

Watching the Olympics

Kitchen - still untouched after our stay....
the goats resting on the roof
And the beautiful view from Hirzighof
