The chocolate tree

The Society for Antiquaries is based in Burlington House near Piccadilly Circus. Burlington House is home to five Learned Societies and (for me) it's one of these stunning buildings in London, that you just don't know exists. For those who don't know (and I didn't), the Society of Antiquaries of London is charged by its Royal Charter of 1751 with ‘the encouragement, advancement and furtherance of the study and knowledge of the antiquities and history of this and other countries’.

Until recently, they've used their events space for their Society's meetings only. Create have recently taken on the catering and the plan is to hire out the event space for external events. Especially the Council room is a lovely space for small dinners.

Canapes were heavenly and included scallops and miniature chicken kievs and by the time the bowl food came out, I was kind of already full. Which was a real shame, as when it was time for dessert from the chocolate tree, I really could only fit in one macaroon.
